To use restricted databases and journals from computers outside of the Stanford network, you must configure your browser connect through Stanford's authenticated proxy server. You may use EZproxy to access some resources without reconfiguring you browser.
Using the proxy server requires you to set up your browser for the correct type of proxying. The Off-Campus Access page provides browser setup and help for users who are accessing restricted library materials from off campus. When you're done with the configuration, test the setup.
Stanford's VPN (Virtual Private Network) service does not provide off-campus access to Library resources.
